COVID-19 Update as of October 7: Add 1,501 Cases from Examination of 60,638 People

JAKARTA - The Task Force for Handling COVID-19 released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 60,638 specimens were examined with the result of 1,501 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,442,624 people and active cases have fallen by 336 to 16,711 cases", said data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Friday, October 7.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,822 cases, bringing the total to 6,267,721 recovered people. Then, there were 15 positive confirmed deaths and a total of 158,192 people.

The province with the highest number of new cases was DKI Jakarta with 520 cases and a total of 1,429,921 cases. Followed by West Java with 272 new cases with a total of 1,189,918 cases. East Java has 173 new cases and a total of 606,584 cases. Then, Banten with 122 new cases and a total of 338,234 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 762 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 487 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 173 recovered cases and Banten with an additional 115 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 109,132,589.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 5.93 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 4,055 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 204,678,004 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 171,297,896. people underwent a second dose of vaccination. While the third dose of vaccination was 63,958,444 and the fourth dose was 634,544. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
