President Jokowi Doesn't Salami The National Police Chief Is In The Spotlight, The Palace Denies There Are Problems
JAKARTA - Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres) Heru Budi Hartono denied that there was a problem between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. This objection came after a video went viral on social media.
In the 25-second video, President Jokowi does not seem to shake hands with the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo at the TNI's 77th Anniversary on Wednesday, October 5. However, he greeted several officials, such as the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa and the TNI Chief of Staff.
Heru emphasized that there was no reason whatsoever that President Jokowi did not shake hands with Sigit. He emphasized that Jokowi actually shook hands with all the guests.
"There is no problem. Right at the main pulpit, before the ceremony, everyone was greeted and what was in the video, the President greeted the National Police Chief (speaking, ed)", Heru said when contacted by VOI, Thursday, October 6.
In addition, Sigit also accompanied President Jokowi to Malang, East Java on the same day. They visited the victims of the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang.
"And after the event at the palace, the National Police Chief together with the president went to Malang using a single presidential plane", he said.
