Nvidia's Turn to Finally Close Business in Russia
JAKARTA - Chipmaker from the United States (US) Nvidia has finally walked out of Russia, after the country's invasion of Ukraine entered its eighth month.
Previously, Nvidia suspended shipments of their products to Russia following other US tech giants such as Apple, Google, Samsung, Intel, and AMD.
"After previously suspending shipments to the country, we continue to maintain our offices to support our employees and their families", Nvidia said as quoted by Bloomberg, Tuesday, October 4.
"With recent developments, we can no longer operate effectively there", Nvidia added.
The impact of the war between Russia and Ukraine on Nvidia is none other than the company's finances. So no wonder, the chip maker based in Santa Clara, California has stopped its operations in Russia.

However, Nvidia did not just give up on its employees, it gave them the option to continue their work in other countries.
"All employees will be given the option to continue their work in another country", Nvidia explained.
Before Nvidia, the US company that stopped selling new products and services in Russia in early March was Microsoft, and last June, the company completely shut down and laid off 400 of its employees in the country.
The decision was taken to reduce Microsoft's business in Russia, more than three months after the country invaded Ukraine. Due to this, as many as 400 employees will be affected by the company's decision to discontinue its business operations.
