The U-17 Asian Cup Qualification Participants Team Condolences On Tragedy At The Argorahan Stadium: You Are Not Alone
JAKARTA - A sad tragedy occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, Saturday, October 1. More than 100 people died as a result of the incident that attracted the world's attention.
Condolences continue to flow to the victims, including from the participants of Group B of the U-17 Asian Cup Qualification which took place in Indonesia.
"We are deeply saddened by Indonesia, for the families of the victims and all of them. You are not alone, we are with you," said the coach of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) team, Alberto Gonzalez, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
He also emphasized the importance of a sense of humanity and brotherhood to get through that sadness together. "There are more important things than football," said Alberto.
Loay Al Salhe also expressed his condolences. He hopes that Indonesian football can get through this difficult moment.
"I and all those in the Palestinian Football Federation are saddened by what happened. We are deeply saddened to hear the news," he said.
Guam coach Samuel San Gil also conveyed the same thing. He expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the tragedy in Kanjuruhan.
"On behalf of the Guam Football Federation, I express my deep condolences to the families of the victims," said Samuel.
The riots at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, occurred after Arema FC lost 2-3 to Persebaya in the 2022/2023 Indonesian League 1 continued match.
