5,487 Households In West Kalimantan Receive Free Electricity Installation Assistance
JAKARTA - A total of 5,487 households in West Kalimantan Province will receive New Installed Electricity Assistance (BPBL) from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in 2022.
The program, which is supported by Commission VII of the DPR RI, targets people who are registered in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), live in the outermost, frontier, and underdeveloped areas (3T) and/or are feasible based on the validation of the village head/lurah or other level official.
The Acting Director General of Electricity, Dadan Kusdiana, said that this program was a major breakthrough from Commission VII DPR RI who wanted to see problems in the field.
"In addition to the BPBL program, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is also accelerating the provision of electricity in areas where there is no electricity network," said Dadan in an official statement, Monday, September 26.
On the same occasion, Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI Maman Abdurrahman said, Kubu Raya Regency as many as 1,134 households will receive the benefits of the BPBL program this year.
"Thanks to the support and enthusiasm from the government, PT PLN (Persero) and all village heads in each region and teams in the field who are already working in the field can encourage progress in West Kalimantan," said Maman.
Until the second semester of 2022, the Electrification Ratio or the ratio of electrified households to total Indonesian households reached 99.56 percent.
From this data, Dadan said, there are still around 347,141 households that do not have electricity, and most of them are spread out in the 3T area.
As is known this year the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is targeting as many as 80,000 households spread across 22 provinces in Indonesia to receive the BPBL program from the APBN.
Communities who receive the BPBL program will receive home electrical installations in the form of 3 light points and 1 socket-outlet, inspection, and testing of the installation of a Certificate of Operation Worthiness (SLO), a connection to PLN, and the first electricity token.
Director of Retail and Commerce of PT PLN (Persero) Edi Srimulyanti said PLN received an assignment from the government through the Directorate General of Electricity to implement the BPBL program for the 2022 Fiscal Year.
In executing the program, he said PLN had coordinated with various parties and prepared information technology infrastructure to support the program.
"To carry out this assignment, we have prepared the information system needed to support this program," he said.

The Regent of Kubu Raya Muda Mahendrawan expressed his gratitude for the support of Commission VII DPR RI so that the aspirations of the people who have not received electricity can be submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
He also emphasized that his party is ready to prepare and oversee the data needed to speed up the connection of electricity in the area.
Budianto (42) a resident of Limbung Raya who is one of the beneficiaries of BPBL, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to get assistance with new electricity installations.
"Alhamdulillah, I thank the government and PLN. After a long time, finally, with this assistance, my house has lights on," he said.
