Twitter Fixes a Bug That Makes User Accounts Still Stuck Even After Changing Passwords
JAKARTA - Twitter claims to have fixed a bug that made users' Twitter accounts stay logged in on other devices even though they had reset their passwords voluntarily.
Previously, Twitter revealed that this bug occurred to some account users, where after they reset their password on one device, their account was still linked on the other device.
"This bug was introduced after we made changes to the system that reset power passwords last year," Twitter said in a statement.
Fortunately, Twitter was immediately aware of the incident and managed to take further steps to take responsibility for what happened.
The company says that they have been able to identify any users who may be affected by this bug, and are proactively logging out of their accounts across devices, and asking them to log back in.
"We recognize this may be inconvenient for some, but it is an important step to keep your account safe and protected from possible unwanted access," the company added.
"We take our responsibility to protect your privacy very seriously and it is very unfortunate that this has happened," he explained.
