A Photo-sharing Website, Flickr, Introduces New Content Category Called Virtual Photography

JAKARTA - Flickr, a photo-sharing website widely used by bloggers, is now introducing a new content category called Virtual Photography.

According to information on the Flickr blog found by Engadget, Virtual Photography is a new art form that specializes in photos taken in video games or virtual environments.

Previously, Flickr only had three content categories, namely photos, illustrations/art, and screenshots. Then, after adding Virtual Photography, Flickr now has four content categories.

What are Content Categories on Flickr?

If you are unfamiliar with Flickr, when you upload content or photos there, you must choose a place that matches your content.

By placing your content into one of these categories, you can use filters to limit your search results based on interests.

For example, virtual photographers will be able to filter by "Virtual Photography" when doing a search, so real-world photography content or other art and illustrations won't show up in your search.

To assign a virtual photography content type to your images when you upload them, go to Settings, then select "Virtual Photography/Machinima" as the default.

If you want to upload a different type of content and don't want "Virtual Photography" to be the default category for all your work, you have the option to set the content type for individual images on the photo page, or use the Organizer.
