Soaring Up To 500 Percent, Mike Tyson's Used Ferrari F50 Is Now Valued At IDR 62.4 Billion

JAKARTA - Mike Tyson is auctioning off one of his antique luxury cars, a Ferrari F50. Although produced in the 90s, the price has now shot up to 500 percent.

Quoted from Mirror, Thursday, Tyson bought the Ferrari F50 from a broker named Nadir Amirvand in 1996. Tyson then sold the car to Amirvand again three years later.

Based on a statement by the Gooding & Company Ferrari F50 auction company, there are only 55 units in the United States market and 349 in the world.

Not only because it is a rare item, its status as a car that has been used by Tyson has made the F50 sold at auction until it reaches the figure of 4.2 million US dollars or equivalent to IDR 62.4 billion.

Tyson first used the Ferrari F50 when he became world heavyweight champion after defeating Frank Bruno and Bruce Seldon in 1996.

When you first bought it, the selling price of the Ferrari F50 was quite high, which was 650 thousand dollars or equivalent to Rp. 9.65 billion. Referring to the initial price of the car, which means that the auction proceeds increased by more than 500 percent from the original price in 1996.

Along with the Ferrari F50, Tyson also bought a Ferrari 456 GT Spyder. These luxury cars became one of Tyson's many luxury car collections when he was still victorious as a boxing world champion.

While still actively boxing, Tyson owned luxury cars such as Lamborghini and Bentley. Interestingly, Tyson was arrested by the police for crashing a Ferrari into a shop.

"My favorite arrest was when I bought a Ferrari, and I didn't know how to drive a Ferrari. The car was stopped and then it went through the window. My car went through the glass window and I had to be arrested for property damage. That's pretty good," Tyson said.

Despite his success, Tyson's health is currently not in a very good condition. Not long ago, The Concrete Neck was seen in a wheelchair when he arrived at Miami Airport.
