Feel The Same Sadness Like The Death Of His Son, Ridwan Kamil Visits A Drowned Student's Family In Padang

JAKARTA - The Governor of West Java (West Java) Ridwan Kamil visited the family of a student who on June 11, 2022 was reported to have been swept away by the Bangek River, Balai Gadang Village, Koto Tangah District, Padang City, West Sumatra Province.

Ridwan Kamil came to the family home of student Ikhsan Maulana in Padang City on Sunday, August 7, at around 22.00 WIB, and was greeted by Ihsan's parents, Ahmad Rusdi and Asnidar.

He offered his condolences to Ihsan's family. He also prayed for Ikhsan with his parents.

"We pray that Ikhsan will die as shahid and enter heaven, and that the family will continue to be strengthened," he said, according to Antara.

"The family who live of course also continue to pray for Ikhsan to enter heaven," he continued.

Ridwan Kamil visited Ikhsan Maulana's family on the sidelines of a meeting of the All-Indonesian City Government Association (Apeksi) in Padang City because he had experienced the same sadness.

Ridwan Kamil's eldest son, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, drifted in the Aare River in Switzerland on 26 May 2022 and his body was found on 8 June 2022.

Ridwan Kamil was at the Ikhsan family's house for about 30 minutes and gave them gifts.

Ikhsan's father, Ahmad Rusdi, said that the arrival of Ridwan Kamil at his house was a comfort to the family.

"This is a comfort for the family. He (once) experienced the same condition as us," he said.

Ikhsan Maulana and two of his friends were reported to have been swept away in the Bangek River in the Lubuk Tonga area, Balai Gadang Village, on June 11, 2022. However, only Ikhsan's body has not been found until now.
