Baubau Southeast Sulawesi Prison Proposes 354 Inmates Get Remissions For The 77th Indonesian Independence Day, Indicators Of Good Behavior For 6 Months
BAUBAU - Class II A Correctional Institution A Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi proposed as many as 354 inmates receive a reduced sentence on the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2022.
The head of Baubau Prison, Herman Mulawarman, said that a total of 354 inmates were registered in the proposed independence day remission.
A total of 351 of them were proposed to get a general remission (RU-1) in the form of cutting the prison term starting from 1-6 months. While the other three people are proposed to receive General Remission II or be free on Independence Day later.
"We are trying to collect data on all prisoners who meet the requirements to get remission, one of which has good behavior for six months, the results of the examination we get data on 354 prisoners", he said in a written statement, Wednesday, August 3.

Herman stated that of the 354 it is still possible to increase in line with the addition of detainees who enter Baubau Prison after the trial period at the Baubau City Court, Buton, Wakatobi, and Bombana Districts is complete.
"There are still prisoners in the trial process, there are also those who have dropped out of court but there has been no execution, this is what we are waiting for execution from the Prosecutor's Office, when the documents are complete, the procedures are fulfilled and the detention is sufficient, we will propose to get remission", he added.
Remissions are part of the rights of inmates, but they are not given to prisoners who commit violations, such as being caught using cell phones in prisons and often making noise and other disciplinary violations.
However, remission is only given to prisoners who have met the administrative and substantive requirements. Among them are the requirements that they have served a minimum of six months of imprisonment and are not registered in register F or the record book of inmates' disciplinary violations.
