Remember! Head Of National Narcotics Agency Affirms, Bali Is Not A Safe Place To Enjoy Drugs
JAKARTA - Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Republic of Indonesia, Commissioner General Petrus Reinhard Golose warned tourists, especially foreign tourists that Bali is not a haven for abusing narcotics.
Petrus Golose when opening the "Smash on Drugs" International Table Tennis Tournament at Udayana University, Badung, Sunday, said that the government in all regions in Indonesia, especially Bali, does not tolerate any form of drug abuse.
"I declare that Bali is not only the Island of Gods (Island of the Gods), and the Island of Tolerance (a place full of tolerance), but we declare that Bali is the Island of Zero Tolerance of Drug Abuse (an island that does not tolerate drug abuse)", said Petrus Golose, citing Antara, Sunday, June 19.
He said the warning needed to be conveyed because Bali is currently starting to receive many tourists. The visit became a vulnerable moment for drug trafficking.
"I remind you again, Bali can't be after it opens, after it's in the process of accepting tourists, it can't be a haven for narcotics abusers or drug traffickers (narcotics dealers, ed.)", he said.

At the opening of the tournament, which is a series of Commemoration of International Antinarcotics Day (HANI) 2022, Golose explained that narcotics trafficking is closely related to organized crime and transnational organized crime.
Golose delivered a message to those involved with cross-border organized crime. "I warn drug dealers that there is zero-tolerance for them if they want to expand their (narcotics) business in Bali", said Golose.
Golose, who is also a former Bali Police Chief, said that during the commemoration of the 2022 International Anti-narcotics Day, BNN would invite all citizens, including foreign nationals, to jointly eradicate narcotics.
The highlight of the campaign, Golose said would be held at Mertasari Beach, Denpasar, on June 26, 2022.
At Mertasari Beach, BNN will hold a night of reflection as a form of concern for the situation of narcotics trafficking in Indonesia and the world.
"In Mertasari later I will invite the ambassadors so we can show the world how serious (how serious) Indonesia is (in eradicating narcotics)", he said.
