Motorcycle Gangs Attack In Gambir Begins With Challenges On Social Media

JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief AKBP Setyo Koes Heriyanto paid special attention to the motorcycle gang that recently occurred in Gambir, Central Jakarta.

"The incident that took place in the Central Jakarta area took place in Gambir. On Jalan Pintu Air II, the beginning of this incident was challenging each other through an Instagram account," said AKBP Setyo to reporters, Thursday, June 16.

Departing from social media, continued Setyo, a motorcycle gang from Sawah Besar carried out attacks using various sharp weapons in the Gambir area.

"The position of the victim is that at that time he was left behind by his friends," he explained.

Meanwhile, the three suspects have different roles. One person is the direct executor when making a slash.

"The role of the suspect is an Instagram admin, there is a pillion and there is a main executor," he said.

Currently, the police are still investigating the other suspects.

"Because this is a motorcycle gang. So we don't stop chasing. We are also looking into the relationship between the victim's friends, because the admins of each of these Instagrams started or made this fight happen. We will investigate further," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) together with the Gambir Metro Police managed to apprehend three members of the motorcycle gang who attacked residents of Kingkit, Pintu Air II Street, Kebon Kelapa Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, Saturday, June 4.

As a result of the attack, a resident with the initials RM suffered a knife wound.

The three suspects arrested by the joint team are known to have the initials NJS alias Cola, M alias Ekel, PATP alias Agoy. The three suspects are motorcycle gangs from the Sawah Besar District.

As a result of their actions, suspects M alias Ekel and PATP alias Aylgoy were charged with Article 55 in conjunction with 351 of the Criminal Code. Meanwhile, the suspect with the initials NJS alias Cola was charged with Article 351 (2) of the Criminal Code.
