Indonesia Open 2022" Pramudya/Yeremia Make Istora Hysterical! Get Rid Of The 4th Seed Winner Of The 2020 Olympics

JAKARTA — The doubles pair of Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Rambitan reached the last eight of the Indonesia Open 2022. They got their ticket after getting rid of the fourth seed from Taiwan, Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin.

Pramudya/Yeremia defeated the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion in a three-game 21-16, 17-21, and 21-14 match at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday, June 16 at noon WIB.

Both pairs played tight and equally strong in the race for four points at the start of the first game. The score returned to a 4-4 draw after that before Pramudya/Yeremia continued to step on the gas, leading 11-8 at the interval.

After the break, the opportunity for Chinese Taipei representatives to equalize the score did not materialize again. Pramudya/Yeremia then won the first game with a gap of five points.

In the second game, Lee/Wang began to give fierce resistance. After losing their first point, they took the lead and led 10-7 before Indonesia's representatives scored four consecutive points.

The tight points came after that. The score was in a row between 11-11 and 14-14, but the match then had to move on to the third game after Pramudya/Jeremiah could only add three more points.

In the deciding game, Pramudya/Jeremiah shot up very quickly after leading 3-2 over their opponent. They scored five straight points and then led 11-6 at half-time.

The distance of five points at the break continues to be maintained by Pramudya / Jeremiah. The pair who became Asian champions in 2022 then forced their opponents to surrender with a score of 21-14.

This success made Pramudya/Yeremia the first representatives of Indonesia to qualify for the quarter-finals. They will next meet Malaysia's fifth seed, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik.
