Through A Railroad Crossing Without A Doorstop, An 18-Year-Old Female Riding A Honda Beat Motorcycle Died After Being Dragged A Dozen Meters

CILEGON - A female motorcyclist died when she was hit by a train at the Ramanuju Lama Neighborhood Railroad, Citangkil District, Cilegon City, Wednesday, May 11.

Cilegon Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant of Police Sigit Haryono confirmed the incident. Sigit said, at that time the victim died instantly when he was hit by a train bound for Merak – Rangkasbitung.

"It's true that a woman riding a black Honda Beat motorcycle, number A 5730 SJ, named Mutmainah (18), a resident of Sigedong Village, Mancak, Serang Regency, died at the scene after being hit by a Merak - Rangkasbitung passenger train," said Sigit based on a written statement.

Furthermore, Sigit also explained the testimony of a witness named Loren, that at that time the victim was driving from Cilegon - Anyer Street to Cangkil Street past the Ramanuju Baru railway crossing.

"When crossing, the victim was like a person daydreaming and did not know that a train was passing, so the victim was hit by a train that was crossing from Cilegon to Merak," he said.

"As a result of the incident the victim and the motorcycle were dragged dozens of meters and run over by a train. The victim died with broken legs and hips," he explained.

The Cilegon Police have conducted crime scenes and examined witnesses to provide certainty regarding the incident.

The accident was caught on a CCTV camera at the scene. It can be seen in the video that the railroad crossing has no door signs and there are no guards at the location.
