President Jokowi Arrives At Gedung Agung Preparing For Eid In Yogyakarta

YOGYAKARTA - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, arrived at the Presidential Palace, Gedung Agung, Yogyakarta City, Saturday 30 April afternoon, to spend the end of the month of Ramadan as well as Eid in Gudeg City.

Quoted by Antara, President Joko Widodo entered the Agung Building complex at around 13.00 WIB by riding a black Toyota Alphard.

Before entering the gates of Gedung Agung, the number one person in Indonesia had time to direct his eyes while waving from inside the car towards the crowd of residents who welcomed his arrival.

Meanwhile, police officers and several TNI (Army) personnel seemed to be on standby to maintain security in front of the gates of the Great Building, which is located in the Malioboro Street area.

Nur Hasanah (53), a tourist from Cilegon admitted that she was enthusiastic about welcoming President Jokowi. She was willing to pause his tour agenda along Malioboro Street to capture the moment.

According to Nur, this was the first time she had seen the President in person, even if only from a distance.

"It's nice to see Mr. Jokowi. I could see him from the window. I want to be able to shake hands with Mr. Jokowi", said Nur.

Previously, after reviewing the Formula E Circuit in Ancol, North Jakarta, Monday, April 25, President Joko Widodo said he would go home and perform Eid prayers in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Although he could not confirm how long he would be in Yogyakarta, the President emphasized that the Palace would not hold Halal-Bihalal activities.

"When I go home, it's in Solo. Central Java. However, I don't go to Solo, I go to Yogyakarta. God willing (Idul Fitri prayers)", said Jokowi.
