SEA Games 2021 Held In 12 Cities, Indonesian Contingent Divided Into 3 Clusters

JAKARTA - The 2021 SEA Games will be held in 12 cities. Apart from Hanoi, other cities in Vietnam that are also the venue are Hoa Binh, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, and Hai Duong.

Chief de Mission (CdM) Indonesia, Ferry J Kono said the Red and White contingent divided the cities into three clusters. Each cluster is accompanied by a manager to facilitate coordination.

Cluster I covers the city of Hanoi and several sports which are competed in the southern area. This group will be handled by Richard Sam Bera.

Cluster II covers the northern, northwestern, and eastern parts of Hanoi and is the responsibility of Andri Paranoan. Meanwhile, Cluster III covers the eastern end, which is 3.5 hours from Hanoi, which is handled by Cresida Mariska.

In addition, Ferry Kono also said, the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) will provide a special command post for the Indonesian team to facilitate the needs of the Indonesian contingent for the 2021 SEA Games. The Indonesian team post will be available in three clusters and based in Hanoi.

"We are doing all of this to facilitate coordination between cities and provinces so that sports and athletes from the Indonesian team can compete comfortably," said Ferry Kono, as reported by Antara.

In addition to the Indonesian team post, KOI will also bring in an additional team of doctors to strengthen the contingent medical team. The Chef de Mission (CdM) team, he continued, will also bring COVID-19 test kits from Indonesia as an anticipation while in Vietnam, even though the organizing committee provides periodic tests for all contingents involved in the SEA Games.

"There are routine tests, but we bring all of these tools to compare the results of the tests carried out by the committee, so that apart from health reasons, we also ensure that our athletes do not receive any treatment which can have an impact on the match schedule due to false-positive results," added Ferry.
