Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap Film Begins With Bene Dion Envy To Ernest Prakasa

JAKARTA - Director Bene Dion presents a family film entitled Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap. The film is Imaginari and Kathanika Studio's first production in the entertainment industry.

Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap focuses on the story of a family of Batak blood. Bene Dion, who also wrote this film, explained that the plot stems from his jealousy of Ernest Prakasa's film.

"When watching Cek Toko Sebelah, I was really jealous. When Ernest was able to make a film background of him which was very personal, many people were happy," said Bene Dion at the Horrifyingly Delicious press conference, Wednesday, April 20.

"I think I need to make something like this so that Batak people watch and are happy," he explained.

As is well known, Cek Toko Sebelah is a family film that has an ethnic Chinese family background. Therefore, Bene Dion saw that Ernest's film was widely felt by the audience.

“The movie Cek Toko Sebelah fixes the family a lot. As we know the Batak family is prone to conflict,” added Bene Dion.

Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap tells the story of Mr. Domu (Arswendi Bening Swara) and Mrs. Domu (Tika Panggabean) who live with their son, Sarma (Gita Bhebita). They want their three sons: Domu (Boris Bokir), Gabe (Lolox), and Sahat (Indra Jegel) who have been abroad for a long time to go home. They are willing to pretend they want a divorce to get their children's attention.

"The conflict is really family. Batak background is here to strengthen the story. When you watch it relate, you can watch it with non-Batak people too,” said Bene Dion.

The Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap film will be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting June 2.
