Inspector General Fadil Asks Police To Monitor Demonstrators' Behavior That Can Trigger Riots: Take Measured Steps

JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran left a message to all his staff before carrying out security for student demonstrations. Starting from not easily provoked to observing the behavior of the demonstrators.

"Don't be easily provoked, do security according to standard operating procedures and one command," said Inspector General Fadil to reporters, Monday, April 11.

This message is intended so that the members who carry out security are not provoked by their emotions. Thus, the demonstration can end peacefully without any physical or verbal violence.

Then, the message that was entrusted to this two-star general was to monitor the movements of the demonstrators. If an action is found that triggers a riot, its members are asked to act immediately.

However, the actions taken are still in accordance with the rules. Moreover, without resorting to violence.

"Observe and observe the behavior of demonstrators that trigger anarchic actions to take measurable and controlled law enforcement steps," he said.

Finally, all members are asked to communicate well with each other. The goal is to avoid misunderstandings in taking security measures.

"Establish good communication between security personnel to minimize miscommunication and misperceptions between personnel," said Inspector General Fadil.
