Everton Is Threatened To Be In The Relegation Zone After Losing To Burnley, Frank Lampard: The Only Way Is To Fight
JAKARTA - Everton's position in the English Premier League is increasingly threatened. A 2-3 defeat to Burnley, Thursday, 7 a.m. Indonesian Western Time (WIB), makes Everton now only one point adrift of the relegation zone.
Currently, Everton is in 17th position with 25 points. While Burnley occupies the 18th position with 24 points.
"The players have to work and fight to get through it. If it's a lack of confidence the only way is to keep fighting and work and that's what the players have to do because we're in a battle. If we didn't know it before tonight, we knew it now," said Lampard on the club's official website.
"We are still above Burnley in the table so we have to keep fighting and looking forward but obviously you are disappointed not to win from a winning position tonight."
Lampard said his team had to accept the harsh reality. He also said this is the responsibility of the team.
In that match, Everton actually had a 2-1 lead thanks to Richalison's two goals in the 18th and 41st minutes. However, Burnley scored two additional goals in the second half. One of them through the action of Cornet in the 85th minute.

"At 2-1, we should have won the game. We had to win the game with more goals, so we weren't clinical enough on the chances, on the counter-attacks, and when we were in their area," said Lampard.
"In that moment you always leave the game open, and then we made a mistake for them to score."
"The imperative for us is to win football games, to get through the game at any cost, and tonight we didn't do that from where we should be," he added.
