Learn From Conor McGregor's Hard Work And Big Dreams: From Plumber To MMA Star
JAKARTA - Conor McGregor talks about his humble upbringing in Ireland and his transition from a plumber to one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time.
The 33-year-old said he spent nearly two years working as a plumber in Ireland and claims that there were certain lessons he learned from his first job.
"No one is chasing your dreams and doing what you want to do, getting a job or getting in and doing a job," McGregor said, according to Essentially Sports, Friday.
"So, I got my first job going my way, which was plumbing. I mean, I spent 18 months doing that and I looked through the (MMA) sites. And I saw people who were fully qualified for it, you know, my back is bad and my posture is bad too.
"When I quit my job I left the plumbing. Obviously, I wasn't very happy, you know what I mean, but over time they saw the amount of work I was doing almost made me harden. I'm the hard-working athlete on the island. "
McGregor has always insisted that to achieve our goals we always pursue our dreams, believing that the most successful people are those who dream big.

"I believe it's very important not only to have dreams, but to recognize what your dreams are and what you're passionate about, and never give up on your dreams," he said in 2016.
"For those who want to win this competition, come on, talk passionately about where you want to go, who you want to meet, and the people who are most passionate and dedicated to their craft will shine. So make sure to dream big.
"To get people to look at me and take inspiration from what I do, that's something I'm very proud of."
