Dropped From 2022 PFL Super Heavyweight Squad, MMA's Tom Brady Ready To Turn Steering Into Boxing
JAKARTA - Fabricio Werdum is considered one of the pillars of the success of mixed martial arts in the modern era. However, this cage fighting legend is now open to starting a boxing career.
Werdum was left out of the PFL 2022 super-heavyweight squad for the upcoming season, which makes him likely to retire.
"After my 24 years in the octagon, this is a very complicated time for my family, even my wife pressured me to close this chapter of my life, but I refused," Werdum said, quoted as saying by Marca, Friday.
"However, I will most likely not return to MMA. It is very difficult for me to stay in the US for two or three months because I have lived in Brazil for almost a year.
"If I was given a chance in boxing, I would definitely take it."
At 44 years old, he has compared himself to Tom Brady and wants to keep fighting.
