Repsol Honda Officially Announces Replacement For Marc Marquez At MotoGP Argentina, Who Do You Think?

JAKARTA - The Repsol Honda factory team has officially announced a replacement rider for Marc Marquez to appear in the MotoGP Argentina 2022. The test rider, Stefan Bradl, was given the opportunity to replace The Baby Alien.

The news was shared directly by Repsol Honda through their latest upload on the official Instagram on Wednesday, March 30.

"Ready to return to #ArgentinaGP @stefanbradl6 back with us this weekend. As we wish @marcmarquez93 a speedy full recovery," wrote the account.

Previously, Repsol Honda announced that Marquez was forced to be absent from the Argentine MotoGP at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit on April 1-3. Diplopia is the reason the Spaniard is absent.

As is known, Marquez had four major accidents during the Mandalika MotoGP, two weeks ago. One of them occurred in the warm-up session, where the incident was fairly horrific. He suffered a concussion and was advised not to take part in the second series of races.

On the way back to Spain, Marquez suddenly felt uncomfortable in his right eye. After undergoing an emergency medical examination in Barcelona, Marquez was declared to be experiencing diplopia, aka double vision.

Because of his health condition, Marquez had to be absent from Argentina. The ophthalmologist, dr. Sanchez Dalmau, stated that Marquez's eye condition continued to improve, but he was advised to be absent from the race in Argentina in order to optimize therapy and follow-up treatment.

This is not the first time for Bradl to replace the number 93 rider. In the last three years, Bradl has been a substitute for Marquez several times.

Even in 2020, Marquez had missed almost a full season due to an arm fracture. Bradl recorded appearances 12 times that season.
