UK Government Changes License To Allow Chelsea To Sell Tickets, But Club Won't Receive Any Revenue
JAKARTA - The British government has changed Chelsea's special license to allow supporters to purchase tickets for away matches, cup tournament matches, and women's matches.
This was stated by the Ministry of Digital, Culture, Media, and Sports (DCMS) as quoted by Antara from Reuters, Wednesday.
However, the government insists Chelsea will not receive any revenue from ticket sales, as all ticket sales proceeds will go to the relevant competition organizers.
"Since Roman Abramovich was added to the UK sanctions list because of his links to (Russian President) Vladimir Putin, we have worked extensively to ensure this club can continue to play football while ensuring the sanctions regime continues to be enforced," said Sports Minister Nigel Huddleston.
"I want to thank the fans for their patience as we engage with football authorities to make this happen."

Abramovich is officially no longer in charge of Chelsea because he has received a lot of criticism from British citizens regarding Russia's invasion of Ukraine. He handed over the management of the team nicknamed the Blues to the club's internal charity.
Abramovich is known to be close to Russian President, Vladimir Putin. That's what makes it increasingly "attacked" British citizens.
Even though he has let Chelsea go, he admits he will always support the club forever. He will always make decisions in the best interests of the club.
