Bringing 300 Thousand Rupiah Counterfeit Money, Residents Of Jati Kudus District Arrested By Police
KUDUS - Kudus Police, Central Java, arrested the perpetrators of counterfeit money dealers along with evidence of 300 pieces of counterfeit banknotes of Rp.
Kudus Police Chief AKBP Wiraga Dimas Tama said his party arrested the perpetrator with the initials AAF (28), a resident from Jati Subdistrict, Kudus on Tuesday, 22 March.
The perpetrator was arrested while in the traffic control light area in Jati Wetan Village, Jati District, Kudus Regency. The suspect admitted to officers that he had the Rp100 thousand denomination and wanted to distribute it.
"The case is still being developed to reveal how to distribute it, whether it was spent or in what way, including revealing the supplier of the counterfeit money," he said in Kudus, Antara, Wednesday, March 23.
Approaching the fasting month, people need to be aware of the circulation of counterfeit money, especially with banknotes in the Rp100 thousand and Rp50 thousand denominations. It must be ensured that the money received is truly genuine using a banknote authenticity detection tool or understanding the characteristics of the original.
He reminded that everyone is prohibited from physically storing and circulating counterfeit money.
To account for his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 36 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law number 7/2001 concerning Currency, a subsidiary of Article 245 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 15 years in prison.
