Anticipating Crowds Of Pilgrims, Karet Bivak Public Cemetery Provide Electric Cars For The Disabled And Elderly

JAKARTA - As Ramadan approaches, tomb pilgrims begin visiting the Karet Bivak Public Cemetery (TPU), Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta.

Pilgrims come to the cemetery area to pray for their relatives and relatives who have passed away before Ramadan.

As more and more grave pilgrims came to the Karet Bivak TPU, the Central Jakarta Parks and City Forest Service Sub-dept. began making appeals on a number of banners regarding visitor restrictions.

"Although now the wave (of COVID-19) has decreased greatly, we still need to anticipate," said Head of the Central Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department (Kasudin) Mila Ananda when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, March 23.

Mila said that his party had coordinated with the Central Jakarta Satpol PP and the village head regarding the pattern of guarding the anticipation of the crowd.

"We have coordinated with the Satpol PP and the residence. So the process must still be carried out. Apart from banners, we also provide information to pilgrims," he said.

In addition to anticipating crowds of pilgrims, the Central Jakarta Parks and Urban Forest Service Sub-dept. also provided electric cars for the public at the Karet Bivak TPU and Petamburan TPU.

"In Central Jakarta, there are two electric cars that have been deployed, namely TPU Karet Bivak and TPU Petamburan. The facilities (electric cars) are free for the community, preferably the disabled and the elderly," he said.
