IKN Development Claims To Become A New Economic Source In Eastern Indonesia, Jokowi Invites Investors To Contribute
JAKARTA - The government continues to promote the development of the National Capital City (IKN) Nusantara in East Kalimantan. This step is also one of the efforts made by the government to create new sources of the economy outside Java.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also spoke about the urgency of the IKN development in East Kalimantan. According to him, the development of IKN will be the driving force of the new economy, especially in eastern Indonesia.
"We will build IKN, this is a big job that will be carried out in 2022, IKN development will be one of the driving forces in Indonesia, especially the eastern part", he said at the CNBC Indonesia Economic Outlook, Tuesday, March 22.
Therefore, said Jokowi, the government will invite investors to be a part of IKN development. This is because IKN can later become a motor of innovation to accelerate future economic development.
The presence of these investors, according to Jokowi, is very much needed in the development of IKN. Collaboration between the government and the private sector can make the megaproject a success.
"This will be an innovation motor for the acceleration of future innovation development. I invite and invite investors to contribute to this process, to be part of an important historical agreement for the nation, to contribute to the progress of Indonesia and the archipelago", he said.

Apart from IKN, Jokowi continued, efforts to accelerate the economy are through product downstream. Jokowi explained that compared to exports of raw materials, finished products have more added value for the country.
