Defeat Ukrainian Donbass Battalion, Russian Ministry Of Defense Claims Troops Advance 12 Kilometers In Ukraine
JAKARTA - Russian troops managed to beat the Ukrainian Donbass Battalion, and then advance 12 kilometers in a special military operation in Ukraine, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said on Sunday.
"The units of the Russian army have completed the defeat of the Donbass nationalist battalion. During the day, the Russian troops advanced 12 kilometers to reach Nikolskoye and together with the units of the Donetsk People's Republic blocked the settlement of Sladkoye from three sides," he said.
Major General. Konashenkov further explained that at least 60 militants were killed, three armored vehicles, six artillery systems and nationalist mortars were destroyed. Currently, fighting continues in the settlements of Sladkoye, Novoukrainka and Shakhterskoye.
The troops of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) continued to pursue Ukrainian troops from the retreating 53rd brigade. Twenty Ukrainian soldiers were killed, one tank, one infantry carrier and three all-terrain cars were destroyed. The DPR troops continued to fight for control of the settlements of Kamenka and Novoselovka.
Furthermore, the Russian air force attacked 89 military infrastructure facilities in Ukraine during the day, Konashenkov said.
"During the day, Russian tactical flights hit 89 military facilities in Ukraine, including four control centers, two dual-launch missile systems, nine artillery systems, five weapons and ammunition depots and 65 military vehicle deployments," he said.

According to Konashenkov, Russian air defense systems downed seven Ukrainian drones. In addition, 214 Ukrainian drones, 1.483 tanks, and 150 dual-launch missile systems have been destroyed by Russian forces since the start of special military operations in Ukraine, Konashenkov said.
"Since the start of the special military operation, Russian forces have destroyed 214 unmanned aerial vehicles, 1.483 tanks, and other armored vehicles, 150 dual-launch missile systems, 584 artillery and mortar systems, and 1.279 special combat cars," he concluded.
