Moto2 Mandalika: Become A Champion, Thailand Racer Somkiat Chantra Makes History!

MANDALIKA - Thailand racer, Somkiat Chantra, won the Moto2 2022 Grand Prix Mandalika. This achievement made him the first Thai rider to win a Grand Prix race.

The 2022 Moto2 race will take place at the Mandalika International Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Sunday, March 20.

Chantra, who started in fourth position, managed to come out victorious with a time of 25 minutes 40.876 seconds.

The race just started, Chantra immediately managed to poke forward. He successfully overtook Jake Dixon who started from first position.

Disaster then hit Dixon after he dropped to second place. He fell and could not continue the race.

The position at the front also changed significantly after that. This came after leaders Celestino Vietti overtook Sam Lowes to take over from the front.

However, Chantra managed to return and lead the race. He managed to lead 1.9 seconds from Vietti who slumped down to second place.

Chantra continued to maintain his position after that until the race was over. Meanwhile, Vietti managed to finish the race in second place with a time gap of +3.230 seconds from the front position.

Meanwhile in third place belongs to Aron Canet. This racer completes the top three after being +4.366 seconds adrift of Chantra.

Meanwhile, Mandalika SAG Racing Team's Bo Bendsneyder, who started the race from fifth, did not get a place in the top ten. He ended the race in 15th position, followed by his partner Gabriel Rodrigo in 22nd position.
