Posting A Photo Of Indonesian MotoGP Racer In The 70s, Ridwan Kamil Asks Netizens Not To Feel Inferior Because Of His Good Looks

JAKARTA - The Governor of West Java, M. Ridwan Kamil, gave tickets to watch the MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara to former Indonesian motorcycle racer from West Java, Tjetjep Heriyana.

The ticket is a form of appreciation for Ridwan Kamil to Tjetjep, who is a former national motorcycle racer from West Java.

Tjetjep was very happy and enthusiastic to witness the 'iron horse' event in Mandalika live. He also thanked Kang Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname.

In his Instagram account @ridwankamil, the former mayor of Bandung said he was happy to be able to help realize the wish of Tjetjep Heriyana, who had competed in the 1970 MotoGP event, to go to Mandalika.

“To everyone, the hope today is only one, 'I really want to be present at the Mandalika MotoGP' to hear again the sound of motorbikes being driven by the world's racers. Hearing that, We fulfilled his wish as a tribute to his achievements. MotoGP tickets, plane tickets, and accommodation are covered by us," said RK, as he is familiarly called.

He also told that Tjetjep had competed in several countries before there was a disaster that forced him to retire "pave" from MotoGP.

“Tjetjep Euwyong Heriyana is the name of the racer. Here and there he raced and got achievements in various international races in Monza Italy, Germany, Japan, Singapore, and finally won the Macau Grand Prix in 1970. Yes, CHAMPION. It was then. Now he is old, already 83 years old, and lives every day in a wheelchair because of an accident," he said.

With a joking tone, Ridwan Kamil who posted a photo of a young Tjetjep asked netizens not to feel inferior because of his good looks.

"I'm sorry, many netizens feel inferior to your true beauty at a young age, sir. They said why you born so early," he said.

“Let's always respect history so that we can design a better future. May you always be happy, Mr. Tjetjep," he concluded.
