Ukrainian President To Europe: Who Is Fighting With Us? I Don't See Anyone

JAKARTA - The world is busy condemning Russia's attack on Ukraine. Sanctions are prepared. Any strong statements ready to retaliate against Russia were expressed. But Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sees a different reality on the ground.

Speaking on Friday, February 25, reported by China Global Television Network (CGTN), President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was feeling alone. He said Ukraine was "left alone" against Russia after President Vladimir Putin announced a full-scale military operation.

"We were left alone to defend our country," Zelenskyy said in a speech.

"Who is ready to fight with us? I don't see anyone," he lamented.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had contacted 27 European leaders. But neither of them directly responded to Ukraine's request to join NATO.

"Who is ready to give Ukraine guarantees of NATO membership? Everyone is scared,"

Zelenskyy is currently still in Ukraine amidst the increasingly massive explosions being heard. Russia was getting closer to entering the capital Kyiv and Zelenskyy felt that he was target number one.

"They want to destroy Ukraine politically by bringing down the head of state," he said and vowed never to leave the country.

Volodymyr Zelenskiy also announced that the Russian invasion had left 137 people -- both civilians and military -- dead.

One of the dead was a 14-year-old Ukrainian boy who lost his life in Chuguev, eastern Ukraine.

Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the Ukrainian interior minister, posted a report from the Kharkiv regional police to his official Telegram account. The poor boy was hit by a bullet near his house.

“What did Anton Tarasenko blame on the Russian world? Answer me, Russian! Putin, you are a killer!” Gerashchenko was quoted as saying by The Guardian.
