Rob Halford And KK Downing Reunite If Judas Priest Is Inducted Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

JAKARTA - Judas Priest is one of the nominees for the 2022 edition of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. If they are elected to be inducted, Rob Halford will meet his former guitarist, KK Downing.

On February 2, the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame announced the names of the band members who would enter if their group was inducted. For Judas Priest, they were the current members; Halford (vocals), Ian Hill (bass), Glenn Tipton (guitar), and Scott Travis (drums), along with former members Downing (guitar), Les Binks (drums), and the late drummer Dave Holland.

Following the announcement, Hill and Halford told Billboard that they would be happy to stand alongside Downing at the inauguration, should the band be selected. As is known, Downing left Judas Priest in 2011 because it was no longer suitable for his musical vision.

"That's not a problem for us, no," Hill said, quoted from Blabbermouth, Saturday. "KK was an integral part of this band for a very, very long time. He deserves to be there with all of us."

Meanwhile, Halford predicted that they and Downing would not be as awkward as Ace (Frehley) and Peter (Criss) when KISS was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2014.

"I don't think it's going to be awkward at all. I think you should just let it all flow because it's awards night that matters. It's an important moment—but, again, the saying goes, we'll never know what's going to happen until we get through it," he explained.

Judas Priest was nominated for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2020, but failed to get enough votes to get them through.

Halford et al were also on the ballot for the 2018 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, but were eventually removed from the inducted list.

The inauguration for 2022 will be announced in May. His inauguration ceremony will take place this fall. The date, place, and sales information will be announced at a later date.

Hopefully, Judas Priest is really chosen so his fans can see Halford and Downing reunite.
