Meta Presents Interactive Education Platform On Quest Headset

JAKARTA Digital education services Meta for Education are officially available to the general public starting February 26. This education program will utilize the Meta Quest headset through the Meta Horizon service.

With this new program, educators can access applications and special features designed by Meta. This software support is available to assist students in providing a better and more interactive learning experience.

This program was first introduced in April last year with the promise of providing educational products for Quest devices by the end of 2024. However, Meta for Education was just launched this year.

Meta for Education is a Meta Quest-based solution with Meta Horizon service support. Meta will provide content from third parties, which is interesting and interactive, to support more effective and memorable learning methods.

Currently, Meta for Education only supports three subjects, namely science, history, and language arts. For example, during science subjects, students can explore the molecular structure of chemical compounds in Quest 3. If their subjects are historical, they can see certain events.

"Education of mixed and virtual reality has the potential to change the way we learn and teach. Thanks to its immersive nature, virtual and mixed reality can provide students with impossible direct and interactive experiences in other ways," Meta said.

Meta believes that the platform they provide is able to increase students' interest in learning. Based on data from 83 Inspired Education Group schools that use immersive technology in learning, 90 percent of students are reportedly more involved in learning.

Not only is the desire for greater learning, the level of student confidence in their knowledge has also increased by 35 percent. Therefore, Meta believes that Quest-based Meta for Education can be a reliable learning tool.
