JAKARTA - After the success of its electric car line, BMW is now starting to focus on battery-powered two-wheeled vehicles. The German manufacturer has unveiled two new urban mobility vehicle concepts designed for use in zero-emission urban areas.

Quoted from CNET, Thursday 29 July, the innovative concept of a two-wheeled vehicle, or rather dubbed this scooter, came shortly after BMW revealed the CE-04 scooter. It also signifies the company's unwavering commitment to the electric revolution.

The design of the first scooter had a compact tricycle called Dynamic Cargo. As the name suggests, the scooter has a trunk that can accommodate groceries, luggage, and more. This luggage can also be equipped with various modular attachments.

"Our goal was to develop a concept that retains the agility and ride feel of a normal bicycle while adding innovative and safe transportation options", said Jochen Karg, head of vehicle concept at BMW's new technology division and China.

To achieve this rideability, this tricycle uses a single large front wheel plus a pair of rear wheels that allow it to corner efficiently.

While the second model is dubbed the Clever Commute, this scooter is designed for workers who want to own an environmentally friendly vehicle. This zero-emissions scooter can be folded and even stored in the trunk of a MINI Cooper car.

Clever Commute can also be placed under the workbench. Although it has a small form does not mean it is not mighty. The scooter has an engine mounted on the front wheel hub which BMW says will help users get uphill.

As for the battery sector, it can be removed and recharged at home. Unfortunately, BMW has not provided details regarding power, mileage, or even certainty whether these two scooters will be sold globally.
