Elon Musk Cancels The Production Of Tesla Model S Plaid+, Why?

JAKARTA - Tesla boss Elon Musk suddenly announced the cancellation of the Model S Plaid+ production plan. For whatever reason, the supercharged version of this Tesla electric car will be delayed for some time.

"The S Model hit Plaid speeds this week", Musk tweeted on Sunday. “Plaid+ has been canceled. There's no need, because Plaid's speed is very good".

The Tesla Model S Plaid+ is planned to be a high-end variant produced by the electric car company. Judging from the official website, the Tesla Model S Plaid can go from 0 to 60mph in 1.99 seconds, has a top speed of 200 miles per hour and an estimated range of 390 miles.

This car can even go 520 miles and produce 1.020 horsepower in just one charge. Musk said this car will adopt the latest generation 4680 battery cells.

But production was pushed back to 2022 from late 2021. The Model S Plaid was scheduled to be unveiled at an event on June 3, which has also been pushed back to June 10.

As reported by TechCrunch, the Model S Plaid is priced at USD 112.990 or approximately IDR 1.6 billion (exchange rate of IDR 14.000). Tesla has also stopped pre-orders for the Plaid Model S since last May.
