American Clothing Whitening Products Are Being Hunted By The FDA, It Is Claimed To Cure COVID-19

JAKARTA - The spread of COVID-19 is still not over. But not a few people are looking for ways to recover from the virus. There are even rumors that consuming clothes whitening products can treat COVID-19.

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is again seeking a company suspected of promoting chlorine dioxide products as a way to treat, prevent or cure COVID-19.

Cited from Slashgear, Tuesday, June 1, OCLO Nanotechnology Science is selling OCLO 3000 (Gotero) – Immune Booster and Antiviral, an aqueous solution containing 3000ppm of chlorine dioxide through the eCrater online store. The FDA claims it is an unapproved and misbranded COVID-19 drug and prevention product in the US.

Furthermore, the FDA has also sent a warning letter to OCLO Nanotechnology Science to immediately review the websites and social media accounts used by the company as a medium to promote the dangerous product.

"We ask that you take immediate action to stop the sale of unapproved and unauthorized products for the mitigation, prevention, treatment, diagnosis, or cure of COVID-19", the FDA wrote in its letter.

The FDA letter also states that OCLO has sold this product with the claim, "it can be used to cure a large number of viral infections including COVID-19".

This is not the first time the FDA has pursued such companies for selling products marketed without approval or authorization as a way to prevent, treat, or cure COVID-19.

The agency said it continued to find lists of sellers under the guise of selling COVID-19 products and had warned the public not to drink chlorine dioxide or sodium chlorite products for years.

These products are sold under various names and under various marketing claims. The FDA notes that chlorine dioxide is a 'strong laundry bleach' and can be used as a disinfectant.

It should be noted, taking these substances can cause severe health problems, including severe dehydration, deadly low blood pressure, liver failure, and many more.
