JAKARTA - Alibaba Cloud introduced the innovative features of Apache Flink 2.0, an open-source framework designed to combine stream-processing and batch-processing by the Apache Software Foundation.
Announced during today's Flink Forward Asia event in Jakarta, the launch of Apache Flink 2.0, which was first introduced in 2016, marks ten years of success as Apache's flagship service.
We are committed to continuing to support the Apache Flink community and will explore the integration of Flink 2.0's advanced capabilities into our cloud solutions for global customers in the near future, said Feng Wang, Head of Open Data Platform at Alibaba Cloud Intelligence.
Scheduled for release in early 2025, Apache Flink 2.0 marks a major evolution in data processing technology, with emphasis on significant progress towards integrated architecture for batch and stream processing.
This approach simplifies computing in the cloud-native era, as well as being the basis for dealing with an important hybrid workload in the GenAI era, where advanced data processing capabilities are indispensable for new AI applications.
Mekari, a leading software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider company in Indonesia, admits that it has utilized the Flink 1.0 streaming processing capability to overcome challenges in real-time data processing and integration.
With Flink, Mekari said they managed to capture data in real-time from various sources and integrate it smoothly into MaxCompute, Alibaba's large-scale data processing platform.
