JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria, invites all parties including Ministries / Institutions, campuses, industry, and communities to jointly produce digital talents in Indonesia.
According to Nezar, in 2023, Indonesia will need around 10 million digital talents. Currently, the existing ecosystem is only able to provide around 6 million talents.
"In 2023, around 10 million digital talents are needed and currently the existing ecosystem is only able to provide around 6 million. So we have to fill in about 4 million gaps," said Nezar in his official broadcast quoted Monday, November 25.
Therefore, the Deputy Minister of Communication and Trade said that working together to produce digital talents could bring Indonesia forward and strengthen the digital economy ecosystem.
It said that during the launch of the AI Merdeka initiative from Lintaarta, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, and other partners, Nezar appreciated the initiative to support the 2045 Indonesia Digital Vision (VID).

"I hope this initiative, along with other digital talent development programs, can produce talented individuals who are able to encourage the realization of the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045," he said.
On the other hand, AI Merdeka will present two core programs, namely Laskar AI, a scholarship program that works with Dicoding to train the professional generation of AI through Machine Learning and Data Science learning.
In addition, there is also the Universe AI, a platform for startups and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to develop AI solutions that support innovation in various industrial sectors.
