Instagram Tries The Recommended Reset Feature

JAKARTA Instagram introduces the ability to reset recommendations to maximize experience on its platform. This new feature is being tested on all users of various ages.

Through the Meta announcement page, Instagram explains that this feature was also created to provide a positive and safe experience for teenagers. That way, teenagers can spend time on Instagram for useful content.

"We want to give teens new ways to shape their Instagram experiences, so they can continue to reflect their interests and desires," Instagram said. "That's why we started testing everyone's abilities on Instagram, including teens, to reset their recommendations."

This feature can be arranged easily. With just a few taps, unwanted content will be removed from existing recommendations in Explore, Reels, and Feed. Recommendations will be personalized from scratch with the content users like.

To reset recommendations, users only need to open the Settings page, then access the Content Preferences menu. After that, tap Reorder Content Reset and click the Continue button.

While setting recommendation content, users can review the accounts they follow and often appear in the Feed. All these accounts can stop being followed easily with just one tap. If it is set, Instagram will reshape its account recommendations.

"Your recommendations will begin to be personalized again over time, displaying new content based on the content and accounts you use," said Instagram. "(This feature) is built on various tools that we have offered to make it easier for people."

It is not known how long this feature will be tested. However, Instagram says that the ability to reset recommendations will be rolled out globally in the near future. The launch may be carried out in stages.
