JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) continues to strive to increase financial education related to crypto assets, this effort aims to make the public understand the benefits and risks of investing in crypto assets.

The latest report from CoinGecko shows that Indonesia is in fifth position as the country with the highest number of 'crypto degenerate' investors, with 3.96% of the total global speculative transactions.

Crypto degen, or the abbreviation of the degenerate, refers to investors who often invest in small, capitalized crypto assets with high risk and speculative nature.

In first place, the United States dominates with 16.83% of total global speculative transactions, followed by the UK (6.16%), the Philippines (5.07%), and France (4.40%).

According to Tokocrypto's VP Marketing & PR, Rieka Handayani, the large number of crypto-degen investors shows the high interest of Indonesian investors in high-risk assets.

However, Rieka said that this could raise concerns regarding the low understanding of the risks inherent in the investment.

"We want investors to understand that although the potential yield can be large, the risk is also high, especially on speculative assets," Rieka said in a written statement.

Therefore, Rieka added, Tokocrypto continues to strive not only to provide access to various crypto assets, but also to educate users about how to invest responsibly.

"We emphasize the importance of diversification and risk management in every investment strategy," he explained.

Through programs such as Tokocrypto Lite and educational features on its platform, Tokocrypto hopes to provide a safer and more informed investment experience.
