Huawei Cloud Promises Digital Transformation In South Africa

JAKARTA As the top three cloud vendors in South Africa, Huawei Cloud promises to accelerate digital transformation in the country. This promise was made through the Huawei Cloud Summit.

TRUEline Shi, President of Global Huawei Cloud Marketing and Sales Services, said it would accelerate digital transformation in South Africa in the next five years to support Digital and Cloud Policy in the country.

Through this support, Huawei Cloud wants to build a new smart foundation through sustainable technological innovation. This digital developer will be in line with social equality, cultural diversity, and economic prosperity.

"Huawei Cloud hopes to build a local platform that empowers South Africa and its companies. Only if the local ecosystem is sustainable and healthy, can the digitalization dream come true completely," said Shi.

The South African government was also present at the event. Nonkqubela Jordan-Dyani, Director General of the Department of Communication and Digital Technology, revealed that the government has been trying to create a digital environment that allows all sectors.

"Our priority remains in the digital transformation process. This will enable inclusive growth and job creation. We also want to reduce poverty and deal with essential services such as healthcare, education, security, and e-government," said Nonkqubela.

Nonkqubela added that the role of public cloud infrastructure is very important in this digital transformation. Therefore, "Mitra like Huawei has helped us ensure that we have stored our data locally."
