JAKARTA Delta Air Line, an airline in the US, decided to sue CrowdStrice for software interference last July. The lawsuit was filed in a Georgia court on Friday, October 25.

In a lawsuit that Delta submitted to the Fulton County High Court, the company stated that errors in CrowdStrice software were catastrophic. According to Delta, "(CrowdStrike) forces an untested update."

As a result of this problem, around 8.5 million Windows-based Microsoft devices worldwide were damaged. Delta is one of the affected companies with a total loss of USD 500 million (IDR 7.8 trillion).

The airline also explained that the OUTage of millions of Windows-based devices made 7,000 flights canceled and 1.3 million passengers were harmed by the incident. Delta stated that CrowdStrice must be held accountable.

Delta's losses include unnamed expenses, attorney fees, and reputational damage related to future loss of income.

"If CrowdStrike tests an incorrect update even on one computer before its implementation, the computer will strike," Delta said, quoted by Reuters. "The CrowdStrike paralyzed Delta's business and caused major delays for Delta customers."

After Delta filed a lawsuit, CrowdStrike is still defending itself. According to the cybersecurity company, Delta accused CrowdStrike of misinformation and for not knowing how cybersecurity works at this time.

"The Delta claim is based on unproven misinformation of the truth," said CrowdStrice. "(This lawsuit) reflects a desperate attempt to divert errors over the slow recovery of its failure to modernize ancient IT infrastructure."

Since last July, Delta has indeed blamed CrowdStrike for the losses suffered by its company. What's more, Delta is the company most affected compared to other airlines.

When blamed, CrowdStrike questioned Delta's fate and compared the company's losses to other airlines that were also affected. CrowdStrice also points out that it does not want to be blamed.
