JAKARTA - Apple has released the first candidates for its operating system update, including iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, tvOS 18.1,visionOS 2.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, ahead of the public availability of Apple Intelligence, next week.

The release candidate (RC) follows several previous developers' builds, with iOS and iPadOS in version 22B82, macOS in 24B82,visionOS in 22N580, and tvOS in 22J6578. However, no candidate has yet been released for watchOS 11.1, suggesting the possibility that RC for watchOS will not be released today.

This update includes new features from Apple Intelligence, including genative artificial intelligence and upgrades in machine learning. However, not all Apple Intelligence features will be available at the initial launch.

Some of the features tested include Siri's new animation, "Type to Siri," better understanding of the context and query, as well as various writing tools.

In addition, iOS 18.1 includes new features such as Clean Up for Photos that allow users to remove unwanted elements from images.

Some other changes involve drag and drop files with the iPhone Mirroring feature on macOS, as well as sleep apnea detection, and adjustments at the Control Center.

This update is important for secondary devices as the risk of problems in the main device persists during this testing phase.
