Google Meet (Original) App No Longer Functions

JAKARTA Google Meet (Original), which was removed from the Google Play Store in the middle of last year, has finally stopped working. The app can still be opened, but all features are no longer available.

This platform was originally called Hangout Meet, then turned into Meet in April 2020. Two years later, in 2022 to be precise, Google Duo was combined with Google Meet so that the Meet application was two.

To avoid confusion, this platform previously known as Hangout Meet has changed to Google Meet (Original). Having two applications with almost the same function is a futile act so that this application is officially removed.

Google combined all features previously in Hangout or Duo into Meet and removed one of its applications. Even though Meet (Original) has been removed, this application can still be accessed over the past year if it has been downloaded.

Apps that have been removed from the Google Play Store will usually die in time, as will Meet (Original). After reportedly missing over the past few months, 9to5google has finally found that this app is no longer working.

Now that the app is open, Google explains that the app is no longer usable. Users will be asked to download other Meet apps that have, "new features such as reactions and the ability to call other Meet users directly."

In fact, Home Google Meet (Original) provides a live button that can direct users to the current Meet app. With the advent of this message, Meet (Original) users should leave the application and switch to a newer Meet.
