JAKARTA Meta, the company that oversees Instagram and Facebook, has begun to expand the presence of virtual Meta AI assistants to more countries. Starting October 9, this chatbot is available in six new countries.

On its official website, Meta says that the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based assistant is being launched in Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom. Especially for the Philippines, Meta added local language support, namely Tagalog.

After launching Meta AI to six countries, this AI chatbot will be released to dozens of other countries. Dozens of registered countries are Algeria, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Yemen.

Through this expansion, Meta will add support for Arabic, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Thai. Meta did not disclose its launch date and simply said that this chatbot would be available, "in the coming weeks."

After a gradual launch, including in Indonesia and several other countries, Meta AI will be available in 43 countries with dozens of languages. Through this expansion, Meta wants to add its monthly number of active users.

"More people will be able to use Meta AI to explore topics that attract them," Meta said. "Meta AI is already on track to become the most widely used AI assistant in the world by the end of the year."

The company added that Meta AI will be available on its various applications such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. This AI-based chatbot can be used privately or with friends in the group chat room.
