Netflix Will Stop Working On IPhone With IOS 16

JAKARTA Netflix announced that their streaming platform will stop working on iOS 16. This means that older iPhone devices that don't get iOS 17 will lose access to the Netflix app.

The iPhone models that cannot be updated to iOS 17 are the first generation iPhone X and iPad Pro. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus and iPad 5 also don't get the OS. That way, users of this phone should switch to another device if they want to use Netflix.

The news of Netflix's discontinued support for iOS 16 was shared directly by the company via the user device. Netflix asks all iOS 16 users to update their OS to a newer version.

"We have updated the Netflix app! To use the latest version, install iOS 17 or later," Netflix said via the main page of their app, quoted from 9to5google.

Although support for iOS 16 has been removed, the film streaming platform and the series can still be accessed for now until an unknown deadline. However, this app will stop functioning in the future.

Netflix updates can't run on iOS 16 as Netflix adds some new features that may be tough to work on old operating systems. In addition to adding new features, Netflix also adds a security patch in it.

iOS 16 was only launched in September 2022, but this OS has entered the old system category because iOS 18 has already been launched. This OS also only survives on older Apple devices so you need to switch to newer devices.
