JAKARTA Google Chrome gets three new security features to protect its users from online threats or access to personal data. These three features were just released to the Chrome application on Thursday, September 12.

The first feature that Google adds to Chrome is an upgrade from Safety Check or Security Check. This feature can take more proactive steps than before and can run automatically in the background.

Google explained that the latest Security Check feature will notify users when taking an action, starting from revoking site permissions that are no longer visited, marking unwanted notifications, reminding security concerns, and others.

"Security checks will continue to help you have the latest security patches and check your passwords for knowing potential security risks. Security checks also provide options to enable Google Safe Browsing protection," Google said.

The next security feature that Google adds is the ability to control unwanted website notifications on Android devices. If users want to end notifications that often appear in notification drawers, they just need to click the Subscription Stop button.

Google has only provided its features on Pixel devices and will expand to more Android devices in the near future. So far, the Subscription Stop feature from notifications has proven to reduce the notification volume by 30 percent on Pixel devices.

Finally, Google added the One-time Permit feature to Android devices and computers. This feature will help users control website access to their personal data. Users can set one access to specific permissions, such as cameras and microphones.

"After you leave the site, Chrome will revoke the permit. The site will not be able to use the permit until you give it again explicitly," Google explained.
