IPhone 16 Pro Comes At 5G Speed Faster Thanks To New Modem

JAKARTA - The iPhone 16 Pro is now equipped with the latest modem of Qualcomm, which offers a significant increase in 5G speed. Based on a report from SpeedSmart, the iPhone 16 Pro provides an increase in the download speed of 5G to 26% thanks to the use of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X75 modem.

Preliminary test results showed an average download speed increase of 23.7% on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in three major US carriers. Verizon obtained the largest increase, at 26.4% in 5G speed, followed by AT&T and T-Mobile. A significant increase was also seen in upload speeds in all three networks, with an average increase of 22.1%.

T-Mobile and Verizon show strong network performance with this latest iPhone, reaching an average download speed of more than 400 Mbps. This speed is expected to continue to increase as UC's 5G coverage expansion of T-Mobile and UW from Verizon.

AT&T also experienced an increase in 5G download speed by 25.7% with this new iPhone. Snapdragon X75 modem not only increases download speed but also uploads, making the network's overall performance better.

In addition to the upgrade to 5G modems, all iPhone 16 models also support Wi-Fi 7, which offers lower latency and much higher data transfer rates, reaching up to 46 Gbps, five times faster than the previous Wi-Fi generation.

Apple is expected to launch their own 5G modem in 2025, but until now, they still rely on Qualcomm modems for their newest devices.
