JAKARTA - A recent report from Salesforce titled State of Sales, revealed how the sales team balances the use of advanced technology while building a trusted relationship with customers.
This report sees that the use of AI to support sales is increasing along with the sales team's efforts to increase productivity and personalization.
However, concerns about customer integration, security and distrust, suggest that the maximum potential of AI technology in supporting sales performance has not been fully achieved.
As many as 81 percent of sales teams in Indonesia have fully implemented or been experimenting with AI. Meanwhile, another 16 percent admitted that they are still in the stage of evaluating this technology.
Furthermore, salesmen revealed that the main benefit of AI is to help them better understand the needs of their customers.
Because according to them, inaccurate data hampers the performance of sales professionals, because only 39 percent of sales professionals in Indonesia believe in the accuracy of their data.
Professional sellers also stated that the main sales process was hampered due to inaccurate data availability, including the ability to make accurate sales projections (47 percent), performance management (45 percent), and compensation management (39 percent).

However, the Salesforce report revealed that one of the main obstacles faced by the sales team in Indonesia when implementing AI was a data security issue.
"AI has the potential to increase the productivity of sellers, giving them more time to deepen relationships with customers," said Iman Muhammad, Regional Vice President and Country Director, Salesforce Indonesia.
