JAKARTA Since last May, Google Wallet has the ability to convert physical documents or cards into digital cards. However, this capability is limited to train tickets and identity cards. Now, with the support of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Google Wallet can convert various physical documents into digital cards. This capability begins to be seen once More options are added to the Wallet application for importing various types of documents. So far, a number of documents that can be converted into digital cards on Wallet are business cards, car insurance, driving licenses, events and tickets, health insurance, Identity Cards (KTP), passports, tax identity cards, and much more. With the launch of the ability to convert physical documents into digital cards, Google Wallet users can travel easily without the need to carry wallets. Digital cards will be a backup if documents in their physical form are lost. This feature is easy to use because of AI assistance. Google Wallet users only need to open the application, tap the Add menu to Wallet, then scroll down the screen to search for Other options. Once clicked, the camera window will appear on the screen.

Users only need to direct a target camera to a document that wants to be used as a card, then wait until the Wallet detects information within the card automatically. These various informations will be imported into the application to be used as a card. Before the digital card is created, Wallet will ask its users to verify the information. Users can change the information detected if the AI on Wallet makes a mistake. After that, the digital card can be saved directly. So far, the Other option in the card addition menu has not been seen on all devices. This feature has just been found on Pixel phones for users in the US. It looks like this feature will be extended to other Android countries and devices in the near future.
