OnePlus Makes Application Cloning Easier At Oxygen OS 14.1

Jakarta - OnePlus has finally opened full access to the App Cloner feature at Oxygen OS 14.1, allowing users to clone almost all apps without requiring additional solutions. This feature, which was first introduced in 2017, initially only supports cloning a number of social media and messaging applications, such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Previously, users who wanted to clone apps that were not included in the built-in list had to use additional methods, such as ADB commands or third-party cloning apps. However, with the latest update, Oxygen OS 14.1 now allows for wider application cloning directly from system settings.

While checking for this update on the newly launched OnePlus Pad 2 in the US, new options were found in the App Cloner settings called "Other Apps". This option displays a list of compatible installed apps, although there is a warning that some clones may not work properly due to adaptation issues.

Although this extended App Cloner feature reduces the need for additional solutions, some applications, such as Discord, still haven't appeared in the list of cloned apps. This may be because some applications are designed assuming that they are only running on the main profile, which can cause problems when cloned.

The introduction of the Private Space feature on Android 15 is expected to increase support for applications that require double-profile management, which in turn can improve support for future application cloning.

With this progress, OnePlus demonstrates its commitment to improving its software functionality and flexibility, making it easier for users to manage multiple accounts and applications simultaneously.
